Potential Suicide / Youth Crimes 7"
released in May of 1981 by Limp Records
reissued in 1990 in a different sleeve by Yesterday and Today
The band's first record, and what a record it is. Two of the best songs to come out of DC. Period. Do anything you can to get this record—lie, cheat, and steal if necessary.
Some of the reissue copies are still available from Yesterday and Today.
Senseless Offerings LP
Downward Christian Soldiers / White Boy Funeral / Killing Time / Senseless Offerings / This Year's Prophet // Gunpoint Affection / I See-You See / Joe Nobody / Body Count / Strike First / America's Youth (live) / World at War (live)
released in 1983 by Fountain of Youth Records
A coupla great songs, a coupla good songs, and the band's most notorious song: Gunpoint Affection. It's a chilling first person account of a rape—from the rapist's point of view. Eerie. Unfortunately the band aren't really into it on this record, which detracts some from the impact.
Out of print, hard to find, and getting more expensive every day. Try eBay.
Black Market Baby - World at War / Bad Brains - Don't Bother Me 7"
released in 1990 by Yesterday and Today
reissued in a different sleeve by YaT shortly thereafter.
A first class pairing of tracks from Limp Records' back catalog. The Brains' cut is superb (of course) and World at War sounds miles better than it did on the Connected LP.
Some copies are still available from Yesterday and Today.
Drunk and Disorderly / Just Like All the Others 7"
released in July 1990 by Yesterday and Today
Drunk and Disorderly was a cover of a song by the Shirkers, one of DC's best, shortest-lived bands—they played a single show and then split up, leaving behind one hard to find single and a lot of ringing ears. The bass that Libby Hatch played on the song was bought by Keith Campbell and given to Mike Donegan, who played it here...
Some copies are still available from Yesterday and Today.
Baby Takes LP/CD
Downward Christian Soldiers / White Boy Funeral / Senseless Offerings / Strike First / Killing Time / This Year's Prophet // America's Youth / World at War / Youth Crimes ('86) / Potential Suicide ('86) / Three Bullets / Drunk and Disorderly (Shirkers) / Just Like All the Others / (CD also includes Baby on Board)
released in 1991 by Bitzcore Records
Half the Senseless Offerings LP and a bunch of stuff from '86—the unreleased material is some of BMB's strongest stuff, loud, punishing, hard-edged punk.
Out of print. Try GEMM or eBay.
Baby on Board LP
Nothing Lasts Forever / Can't Get a Break / Human Hurricane / Out of my League / Backseat Sally / Parasite // Gunpoint Affection / I See—You See / Joe Nobody / Body Count
released in 1991 by Bitzcore Records
I guess this is actually a bootleg, since it was done without permission, but I've included it here. Same deal as Baby Takes: the rest of the Senseless Offerings LP (bar the live tracks) and the rest of the '86 material.
Out of print. Try GEMM or eBay.
Blood Street Boys / It's Too Late 7"
released in 2000 by 007 Records
Bloodstreet Boys could be the sequel to Youth Crimes. A bit less "punk" than '81 BMB, but still rocking every bit as hard. The B side is...well...atrocious.
Out of print, but not hard to find. Try Yesterday and Today or GEMM.
America's Youth / Crimes of Passion 7"
released in 2000 by 007 Records
Crimes of Passion was a holdover from the Snitch (Boyd and Paul Cleary's band in '79) and Boyd wasn't too happy with it. There were some test pressings of this done in '81, but the release was scrapped. 007 did a reissue (mastered from an original test press) in 2000. America's Youth was released on the Connected compilation.
The original is nigh impossible to find but the 007 version is still pretty easy to find. Try Yesterday and Today or GEMM.
